Designed in conjunction with Damon Ward to meet the needs of the 1 knife option to both finish of the game and then be fully capable of dressing out the animal for the carry back. The knife has its origins in a combination of the original Bushman's Pal, with the large finger choil of the large sticking knife, now utilised to add more control of the knife when skinning etc. and a little more drop to the top edge was added for skinning tasks. Whilst this knife was originally produced in 2mm steel for light weight, this proved less effective in camp, so the knife is now made in 3mm as the original bushman pal knife. Due to this it now receives a slightly higher grind and secondary bevel, still at 30 degrees for a really keen edge, tempered to 58/59rc with my own specially developed heat treatment, giving good edge retention whilst still being able to be sharpen-able with normal sharpening equipment. I do not recommend a steel as the blade is to hard for normal steels, a diamond or ceramic steel however could be used in the field to keep the edge keen. The sheath is designed to almost fully cover the handle so as to ensure the knife a safe ride, but be very easy to draw the knife when in the heat of battle with your quarry with the aid of an attached lanyard. Blade length 175mm handle 115mm. Please note measurements are approximate, and adjustable, as all work is carried out by hand and eye. This knife comes as standard with either stabilised timber or G10 scales with G10 liners, Loveless or Corby bolts and the custom top grade vegetable tanned sheath
